PhilDHRRA Luzon - Oxfam GB Partnership on Cash Grant Monitoring for Laguna and Rizal

PhilDHRRA Luzon has entered into a short term partnership with Oxfam GB for the monitoring of the latter's cash grant project for typhoon Ondoy victims in Laguna and Rizal.

Oxfam GB cash grant project aims to provide support to the victims of typhoon Ondoy in form of cash. 10,000 families equally divided for Laguna and Rizal was the target for the project. Why cash? The idea is to make a difference from traditional support "relief activities" and to give the families free will to decide which basic needs to buy.

The cash grant monitoring project simply tries to monitor how the families, who received such support, used the money and how they appreciate such  kind of support. PhilDHRRA Luzon, in the implementation of the said monitoring project, sought the support of local partners namely; NGOs for Fisheries Reforms, Inc. (NFR) and Open Heart Foundation Worldwide, Inc. (OHF).

The areas so far visited for the monitoring includes Sta. Cruz, Los Baños, Calamba, and Cabuyao in Laguna; and San Mateo, Angono, and Taytay in Rizal.
